丰盛盈满，日中则昃
The Judgment
Abundance: success. The king reaches its fullness. Do not grieve; be as the sun at high noon.
Fullness and grandeur stand at their height; all flows freely, and the ruler comes into his greatness. There is no cause for worry, for this is the moment when the sun burns brightest at midday.
雷电皆至，丰。君子以折狱致刑。
丰，大也。明以动，故丰。王假之，尚大也。勿忧宜日中，宜照天下也。日中则昃，月盈则食，天地盈虚，与时消息，而况于人乎？况于鬼神乎？
Interpretation(original text)
丰者，大也，盛大丰满之义。上震（雷）下离（火），雷电皆至，声光交作，盛大之极。明以动，以光明而行动，文明以礼，故能致丰。程颐谓「丰之为言大也，明动相资，其道大也」。然盛极必衰，丰卦兼含勿忧之戒。
上震为雷为动，下离为火为明，雷电交作，声势赫然。明在内而动在外，先察明而后行动，故能成大事。王弼注「雷电皆至，天之威德备也」。虞翻以离日震雷论之，日中之盛，照耀四方，然「日中则昃」，盛满之象亦寓衰减之机。
六二与六五分别为上下卦之主，二柔五刚本当相应，然六五「来章有庆誉」，能以柔居尊纳贤。九四处二卦交接，「丰其蔀」，遮蔽太盛而见暗。初九「遇其配主」，阴阳相遇则能共成丰业。全卦阴阳交错，需明暗互补方能持丰。
丰为第五十五卦，与旅（第五十六卦）相综。《序卦》曰「得其所归者必大，故受之以丰」。归妹之后得所归则丰大。朱熹谓丰与旅「大小相反」，丰盛则安居，丰极则旅行在外，盛衰相因。
The Lines
He meets the lord who is his match. Though they stay together ten days, there is no blame; to go forward wins esteem.
Encountering a partner who is truly his equal, he may keep company even ten days without fault, and moving ahead earns praise.

初九阳居下位，丰之始也。「遇其配主」，与六四相应，阴阳相遇可同行。虽旬（十日），无咎，往有尚。此爻示丰业之初当寻得合作之人，程颐注「遇其配主则能成丰」，同心协力方成大事。
The screen is so dense that the Dipper is seen at midday. To go forward now meets suspicion and ill will; but if one opens the heart with sincerity, good fortune comes.
The shadow is so heavy that stars appear at noon; advancing draws distrust, yet meeting it with open sincerity turns the outcome to fortune.

六二阴柔居中得正，处离明之主位。「丰其蔀」，遮蔽盛大，日中见斗。此爻柔中处明体之内，虽被蔽而内有明德。「往得疑疾」，前行则遭猜疑，宜以诚信感发。朱熹谓「有孚发若，吉」。
The veiling is so thick that even faint stars show at midday. He breaks his right arm; yet there is no blame.
The obscuring gloom deepens until the dimmest stars are visible at noon. Disabled as if his right arm were broken, he can do little, but no fault falls to him.
Image: 丰其沛，不可大事也；折其右肱，终不可用也。
九三阳居阳位，处下卦之极。「丰其沛」（大旗遮天），日中见沬（小星），光明被蔽至极。「折其右肱」，失去臂助，然无咎。此爻刚正处明极之位，虽一时被蔽而正气犹存。王弼注「明极而动」。
The screen is so dense that the Dipper is seen at midday. He meets a lord who is his equal. Good fortune.
Though heavy shadow still hides the light at noon, he encounters a peer well matched to him, and fortune follows.

九四阳居柔位，处上卦之初，震动之始。「丰其蔀」，日中见斗，遮蔽之象。「遇其夷主」，遇同等之人相助则吉。此爻居上下之交，以阳处柔，能屈能伸，程颐谓「能下贤以成丰」。
Brilliance is drawn near; blessing and renown attend it. Good fortune.
Talent and splendor gather to him, bringing celebration and honor; auspicious.
Image: 六五之吉，有庆也。
六五以柔居尊，丰之主也。「来章」，能招来文采斐然之贤才。有庆誉，吉。此爻以柔中之德居尊位，不自用而能纳贤，故有吉庆美誉。朱熹注「虚中能受」，此为守丰之正道。
His house swells to grandeur, but its walls shut the household in. Peering through the door, he finds it silent and empty; for three years he sees no one. Misfortune.
The mansion grows vast yet seals off its own home. Looking in through the gate, he finds only stillness with no soul in sight, and for three years none appears; misfortune.

上六阴居丰之极，盛极而衰。「丰其屋，蔀其家」，房屋虽大而门庭冷落。「窥其户，阒其无人」，三岁不觌，凶。此爻示丰极必反，虞翻谓「自藏晦」，骄盈自蔽、不与人交则致凶。
Divination Reference(original text)
盛极必衰，市场鼎盛时期须居安思危，提前布局防守，避免在高峰时过度集中持仓。
处于事业巅峰时保持谦逊，广结良缘，防止因骄满而招致衰退。
感情最旺盛之时也要珍惜维护，不可恃盛而骄纵，用心经营才能长久。
身体状态最佳时不可过度透支，丰盛之时蓄养元气，才能应对未来消耗。
Traditional Reading(original text)
丰卦象征盛大丰裕，如日中天。运势正当鼎盛之时，万事亨通。但物极必反，盛极必衰，在享受丰盛成果的同时须居安思危，未雨绸缪。
事业处于巅峰时期，声望与成就达到顶点。宜善用当前的优势与资源，做出重大决策。但也要警惕盛极之后的衰退，提前做好应对准备。
经商正值旺季，收益丰厚。但不可因繁荣而盲目扩张，须保持清醒头脑。市场顶部信号出现时要果断调整策略，锁定利润。
学业名声处于鼎盛时期，容易获得认可与荣誉。宜趁势而上，扩大影响。但须保持谦逊，不可因一时辉煌而自满。
感情正处于最甜蜜的阶段，两情相悦。但越是美好越需要珍惜与维护，不可恃宠而骄。盛时更需用心经营，方能长久。
在丰盛时期做决策须保持警觉。不可被眼前的繁荣冲昏头脑，做出过于冒进的选择。居安思危，见好就收，方为上策。
School Interpretations(original text)
丰者，大也。雷电并作，光明威动之象。盛极当防衰，明照天下须自省。
丰卦为雷电皆至之象，光明与威动同时呈现，如日中天般辉煌壮丽。君子观此卦象，以明断诉讼、施行刑罚。然而日中则昃，月盈则亏，丰盛之极便是衰退的开始。得此卦者虽当前运势极佳，但须时刻警惕盛极必衰之理，在繁荣中做好防御准备。
运势极盛，但须居安思危。
收益丰厚，宜见好就收。
家宅兴旺，防盛极而衰。
气血旺盛，防过亢伤阴。
