Before You Cast
A hexagram reads probability, not certainty. Before casting, read the points below carefully, then frame your question and focus your intent to obtain a signal worth referencing.
Four Casting Principles
The heart of Liuyao is catching the early sign. Always cast before the projection period begins. To read next week's trend, cast over this weekend. The model does not process market action that has already happened; it generates signals for future trends only.
A question must specify a ticker and a time range. Correct: “How will SPY move over May 5–9, 2026?” Incorrect: “Will the market go up?” No time, no ticker, nothing to read.
Cast only once per question. Re-casting because you dislike the result is invalid. Liuyao holds that “the first divination speaks; ask twice or thrice and it is profaned, and the profaned is not answered.” The first cast is the truest.
As you call your numbers, focus and silently hold your question in mind. There is no right or wrong number, but focused intent is the basic requirement of a Liuyao cast. Avoid casting when exhausted, agitated, or distracted.
Casting Etiquette
Sincerity brings clarity · when in doubt, do not cast
Number-based casting carries roughly 60% confidence. The numbers themselves are neither right nor wrong; focused intent is what matters.
