决断刚毅，以正驱邪
The Judgment
Breakthrough: one must resolutely make the matter known at the court of the king. It must be announced in truth. Danger. One must notify one's own city. It does not further to resort to arms. It furthers one to undertake something.
The hexagram of Breakthrough shows five firm lines resolving to sweep away the single yielding one, a moment of decisive resolve. The matter is proclaimed openly in the king's court and truthfully commanded to all, though danger remains. Warn first your own domain; it is not well to reach straight for weapons. It is well to have somewhere to go.
泽上于天，夬。君子以施禄及下，居德则忌。
夬，决也，刚决柔也。健而说，决而和。扬于王庭，柔乘五刚也。孚号有厉，其危乃光也。告自邑，不利即戎，所尚乃穷也。利有攸往，刚长乃终也。
Interpretation(original text)
夬，决也，刚决柔也。五阳决一阴，阳气充盈将最后一阴驱除，如洪水决堤般势不可挡。然决之以正道、宣之于王庭，光明正大而非暴力铲除。《彖》曰「刚长乃终也」，阳刚增长至此达到终点，一阴将尽去。
上兑为泽为悦，下乾为天为刚。泽水升于天上，终将倾泻而下、决堤而出。程颐释曰：「泽在天上，其势将决而下。」五阳一阴，阳盛阴微，众阳合力决去残阴。然兑亦有悦义，夬之道当以和悦之态果决行事，刚决而不暴戾。君子观此象，「施禄及下」，泽惠于民。
上六为唯一阴爻，居卦之极，为众阳所决之对象。九五居尊位阳刚中正，为决阴之主帅。九二居内卦之中亦刚中有德，与九五同心。初九至九四连续四阳递进决去，势不可当。然九三居内外卦之际，「壮于頄」有过刚之忧。朱熹曰：「五阳决一阴，当以正道决之。」
夬继益之后。《序卦》曰：「益而不已必决，故受之以夬。」增益过度则必溢出决堤。夬与姤互为综卦，夬以阳决阴，姤以阴遇阳，一决一遇，合为一组。夬后接姤，阳极阴生，决去了最后一阴而一阴又从下生起，天道循环不息。
The Lines
Power in the forward-marching toes. One goes and does not prevail; this brings blame.
Strength that surges into the leading toes, hastening ahead, and to charge off and fail to win is a fault. Reckless assault is not the way.

初九以阳居阳位得正，处夬之初。「壮于前趾」，力量壮盛在脚趾上，急于前行。然「往不胜为咎」，贸然前往恐力不胜任而有咎。程颐释曰：「处决之初，居最下位，势力未充，遽往则不能胜。」夬之初应当蓄势，不宜轻率冒进，量力而行方为上策。
A cry of alarm. Arms may come by night, but need not be feared.
Vigilant and ready to raise the alarm, one need not dread even a night attack of armed men. Kept always on guard, one has nothing to fear.

九二以阳居阴位不当，然居下卦之中，刚中有备。「惕号，莫夜有戎，勿恤」，警惕呼号，即使深夜有敌来犯也不必忧虑。朱熹曰：「居中持重，时刻警惕，虽有变故亦可从容应对。」此爻强调决阴过程中的戒备之心，有备无患则无忧。刚中而知惕，为决之善道。
To be powerful in the cheekbones brings misfortune. The superior man is firm in his resolve. He walks alone and is caught in the rain; he is soiled, and people murmur against him. No blame.
To wear one's hardness openly in the face invites misfortune. The noble man, resolute in his decision, goes on alone and is caught in the rain; drenched and vexed though he is, in the end there is no fault.

九三以阳居阳位得正，处内外卦之际。「壮于頄」，面颧骨隆起，怒形于色，过于刚强显露。「有凶」，过刚则有凶险。然「君子夬夬独行」，君子果决独行，虽「遇雨若濡有愠」被雨淋湿心生不悦，终「无咎」。程颐谓：「三与上六正应，欲决之而有私情之累。」此爻须果断割舍，不可优柔寡断。
There is no skin on his thighs, and walking comes hard. If a man would let himself be led like a sheep, remorse would vanish. But if these words are heard they will not be believed.
The buttocks are stripped raw and every step is halting; were he to yield and be led along like a sheep, regret would pass, but hearing such advice, he will not credit it.

九四以阳居阴位，不当位。「臀无肤，其行次且」，臀部无肤而行走艰难。「牵羊悔亡」，若能牵着羊群随众前行则悔可消。王弼注：「居近君之位而不当，欲前而难行。」九四处进退之间，不宜独自硬进，随众而行、借力而动，「闻言不信」则固执而有害。
In dealing with weeds, firm resolution is needed. Walking in the middle remains free of blame.
Uproot the matter as decisively as one clears rank weeds, and by keeping to the balanced middle course, no fault arises.

九五以阳居阳位，中正尊贵，为夬卦之主帅。「苋陆夬夬，中行无咎」，如同拔除苋陆草般果断决除，行于中道则无咎。朱熹释曰：「九五刚健中正居尊位，决阴之主也。苋陆者，柔脆之物，决之极易。」然须「中行」，以中道行之不可过激，果决而守正乃最佳。
No cry is raised. In the end, misfortune comes.
The alarm falls silent, vigilance lost, and in the end misfortune arrives. The lone remaining weakness, left standing, is at last swept away.

上六以阴居阴位，处夬之极，为五阳所决之孤阴。「无号，终有凶」，无需哭号求救，终究难逃凶险之结局。程颐释曰：「阴柔之极，孤处众阳之上，势必消亡，虽号亦无益。」阴极将灭，此乃必然。然「终有凶」亦暗示夬极则姤生，一阴去而新阴又来。
Divination Reference(original text)
行情突破时应果断决策、清除亏损持仓，但不宜蛮力操作，要有策略有纪律。
遇到必须当断则断的局面，以正义和公开的方式处理，不可暗中使力。
感情中遇到不可回避的问题时，果断沟通决断胜过拖延回避，但态度要温和。
发现明确的健康隐患时应果断处理，不可姑息养患，早决断早安心。
Traditional Reading(original text)
夬卦象征决断、决裂。五阳决一阴，正气压倒邪气。运势强劲但须果断，犹豫不决反而生祸。宜光明正大地行事，一举解决问题。
事业上需要果断决策，排除小人干扰。正义力量占优势，宜趁机拨乱反正、清除隐患。但不可骄傲轻敌。
商业上果断出击，淘汰劣势业务、清理呆账坏账。决断要快、执行要狠，但也要留有余地、施恩于人。
学业上到了检验成果的时刻。考试运佳，宜果断作答、展示实力。但切忌自以为是、轻视对手。
感情上需要做出明确的决定。暧昧不清的关系应果断了结，该表白就表白、该分手就分手。拖延只会更痛苦。
做决定要当机立断，不可犹豫不决。但决断之后要宽厚待人，不可斩尽杀绝，给人留退路也是给自己留后路。
School Interpretations(original text)
夬者决也。五阳决一阴，刚决柔也。决而和之，不可恃强。宜施恩布德，刚柔相济。
此卦兑泽在上、乾天在下，泽水上天、有溃决之象。五阳盛而一阴将尽，象征正气压倒邪气、果断解决问题。得此卦者，运势正旺，宜果断行动，但须保持警惕，防最后一阴反扑。以德化人，方为上策。
运势旺盛，果断行事可成功。
财运佳，但见好就收，勿恋战。
家宅有变动之象，宜果断处理。
注意口腔与肺部，防痰湿。
